The Gamecube controller %26amp; memory card ports are actually covered to give the system a sleek look. If you look on the top of the Wii (in the vertical position. In the horizontal position, look on the left) you'll see 2 covers.

Just flip them up from the right (or down, if horizontal) to uncover the Gamecube ports. The controller ports start with slot 1 from the front of the system %26amp; slot 4 near the back. Additionally, you'll find the Gamecube memory card ports. Slot A is to the right (or top, in horizontal position) %26amp; Slot B is to the left (or bottom, in horizontal position). However, you'll most likely won't need to access the memory card ports (unless you're playing Gamecube games), so you can keep them covered.

Just plug in the Gamecube controllers to correspond to the appropriate player slot (Player 1 in the first slot, Player 2 in the second, ect.) to cover this.

Please be aware that when mixing Wiimote %26amp; Gamecube controllers for multiplayer support, say a NES VC game... If you only have 1 Wiimote, you'll need to place the Gamecube controller into slot 2 for player 2 %26amp; NOT in slot 1... unless you're planning to share control of a single character.

Hope that helps! How do I hook up a game cube controller to a wii to play Virtual console games?
Well, actually there is a place on the wii to do it, on the top of the wii there are two flaps, open them up and you have four slots to be able to put in four game cube controllers and the other flap you can put in two gamecube memory cards, as you can play gamecube games on the wii.
On the top of your Wii is 2 little doors. Open from the left to the right. The back door has spots for memory card and the front has ones for controllers. Heres a photo so you can see http://www.cnet.com.au/i/g/339272438/sc0鈥?/a>
You plug the gamecube controller on the top of the wii. You have to open the top part up and there should be 4 plug ins for the controllers.
there is a flap on the top that opens where you can plug in controllers and you also put the memory card there.
